Score 93 James Suckling
Achaval Ferrer Cabernet Franc, made with 80% grapes from the Cordon del Plata area, neighboring Gualtallary. Planted in 2001, the vines are on very rocky soils. The result is a very lively wine, of great expressiveness, marked by the herbal notes of the strain, worse also with spices, with an accent on the side of peppers and menthol. The palate is pure red fruit, with texture.
"Tobacco, red plums, white pepper and cedarwood with a nice salty touch. This is a fuller cabernet franc with a broad, muscular tannin framework. Pleasantly grainy and long. To drink or store" James Suckling
