Recent launch of the winery.
The book definition of what a Merlot should be in a good vintage. Deep violet in color, this wine is fresh and complex, with notes of tomato leaf, plums and spices on the nose and palate. The wine is textured and round with a silky note. Its elegant tannins mark a long and complex finish. Low yields, careful vineyard management and low-intervention vinification are the hallmarks of this and all other Achával-Ferrer wines.
“Smoked red and black plums with black olives, tobacco and sweet spices here. The dense but mealy tannins and the flavors are really broad, building on the palate before extending into the long, savory finish. A full-bodied Merlot. Better after 2023.” James Suckling
