Paraje Altamira is a corner at the foot of the Andes Mountains, at the southern end of the Uco Valley, in Mendoza, which is not subject to political delimitation: it is not a department, nor is it a district.
It is located on the alluvial cone of the Tunuyán River, which determines stony soils with fine sedimentation. It presents a certain uniformity between 1,000 and 1,200 meters above sea level, and is a terroir rich in calcium carbonates.
