"The aromatic, floral and elegant Bonarda 2019 has 15% Cabernet Franc blended with Bonarda from El Mirador in Rivadavia. It is fresh, has a moderate alcohol content of 13.5%, juicy fruit and fine-grained tannins. It matures in old oak vats for 15 months. In July 2020, 25,000 bottles were filled." Luis Gutierrez - The Wine Advocate - Robert Parker
The old vines of Bonarda planted in pergolas on the sandy soils of El Mirador, in Rivadavia at 650 meters above sea level, were about to be uprooted when Alejandro Vigil found them. He was able to rescue 5 hectares with which he now makes El Enemigo Bonarda. The Bonarda variety, which is gradually gaining importance in Argentina, still occupies the memories of many families in its native Italy. It tends to offer complex but affordable wines, with pleasant tannins and seductive aromas, which have ceased to be part of red wine blends only to occupy second place among Argentine red grapes, only behind Malbec.
