Finca La Escuela - Los Soils Collection - La Grava
Finca La Escuela is located in the district of Paraje Altamira, in the south of the Uco Valley. The farm is named for a rural school over 100 years old located on the property. We actively support the school, with donations and work with the children. The farm has a great diversity of soils, each contributing different aromas, flavors and textures to the grapes grown there.
La Grava is the soil profile with small stones and a medium temperature, which produces a wine with spicy aromas, fresh black fruit flavors and a well-defined structure.
"An attractive, fruity red with hints of vanilla and aromas and flavors of chocolate. Pencil shavings underneath. Medium body. Round tannins. Savory finish. Drink now." James Suckling
"Selected from soils rich in gravel, with 25% of the whole bunch in the vinification and 12 months in barrels, 15% of them new wood, here is a malbec with a firm structure, succulent flavors of ripe red fruits, but also of herbal tones that are felt in the background. Despite the vintage, which was warm and which has produced some wines that are too succulent, that sensation is not perceived in this one. It is rather a generous wine, but well balanced."
