Score: 96 James Suckling - 95 Robert Parker
“Currants, blackberries, blueberries, lemon zest, thyme, green olives and licorice on the nose. Cardamom and iodine, too. Medium to full bodied with firm, luxurious tannins. There is a delicious savory and salty quality to the ripe black fruit. Textured and complex. Recommended for drinking from 2023." James Suckling
"El Gran Enemigo 2018 was made with 50% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot de Gualtallary, with only 13.5% alcohol, which is restricted in this year of low production in that they had to harvest early. It has fantastic acidity and freshness and is balanced with very tasty flavors, berries, herbs and spices. It has a medium to full bodied palate and very fine tannins. 24,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2019.” Luis Gutierrez – Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
