"Blueberries, currants, mushrooms, oyster shells, smoke and dried thyme on the nose. Medium-bodied with silky tannins. Intense, with ripe, savory layers. Full of flavour. Drink from 2023" James Suckling
Laura Catena, fourth generation of winegrowers, is currently General Director of Catena Zapata, where she works closely with Alejandro Vigil and Luis Reginato, selecting the plots and blends of the family's top wines. Laura has also founded the Bodegas Luca Wines, La Posta and Domain Nico.
"In the year 1997, I felt the call of my country. Our Argentine wines were unknown around the world. I learned about the 500 years of history of Argentine wine and I noticed that in my country there was everything to discover. I was ready to challenge and break rules to make Argentine wines that could shine. In 1999 we launched the first vintage of Luca. Choosing the name was easy, it was my newborn son's." Laura Catena
