This wine is the true expression of the Uco Valley. A blend with different Malbec grapes from various areas of the Uco Valley, thus combining different
altitudes and different soils. The southern area of the Uco Valley, which today is known as IG
Pampa, El Brush, at about 1,100 meters above sea level, is the southernmost region of the Uco Valley. This cold region gives a more austere character and a very good
tannin structure. Grapes from two other regions located in the center of the Uco Valley, Campo Los Andes and IG Los Chacayes with altitudes between 1,200 and 1,500 meters were also used.
Puramun is the personal project of José “Pepe” Galante, one of the most important oenologists in Argentine history. As Head of Oenology at Catena Zapata from 1976 to 2010, he showed the world that Argentina could make great quality wines. That is the reason why many refer to him as "the father of modern oenology" in Argentina.
"Pepe Galante is one of the most experienced blenders in Argentina and makes this impressive Malbec with fruit from Eugenio Bustos, Gualtallary, Los Chacayes and Vista Flores. Scented, smooth and slightly woody, with lovely violet and lily top notes, refreshing acidity and a winning combination of plum, raspberry and black cherry. 2023-28" Tim Atkin
