Score 9 5 Tim Atkin / 94 James Suckling
Considered one of the best Argentine whites by Tim Atkin.
Fósil is a white mountain wine. It comes from a vineyard in the Paraje Estancia within the IG San Pablo, at 1400 meters above sea level, and only 300 meters away from the beginning of the Cordillera.
Fossil is a local wine. Born from the unrepeatable combination of cold weather, calcareous soils, and Andean breezes from one of the highest areas of the Uco Valley.
"Zuccardi's brilliant Chardonnay comes from three different types of soil in São Paulo and is typical of the fresh and spicy style of the cellar's best whites. Fermented in concrete and 30% in old barrels, it is salty, concentrated and delicious, like An Argentinian Chablis. Magnificent." Tim Atkins
"A rich, layered Chardonnay with cooked apple, lemon zest, and some toasted oak and cream. Medium to full bodied with a round texture and crisp, fresh finish. Real minerality. Drink now." James Suckling
